Does Education Define Someone's Integrity, Ability?

Does it? Or it doesn't? I've seen a very humble person with no good official education, and otherwise. There's no certain standard to measure someone's integrity and ability based on their educational level. But why this society seems to like bowing down for someone with higher education? Just, why is that? This kind of system is error.
